The Globe and Faith
The great 20th century theologian Karl Barth said,
"We must hold the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other." In
this quote, Barth invites us to view the news though scriptural lenses, and
to view scripture through cultural lenses. Each one informs and sheds light
on the other.
Our Globe and Faith sessions try and accomplish that task
— it's a discussion group where we consider the stories we read in the Globe
and Mail in the light of our Christian faith. We meet weekly in the
lounge on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 am to noon over tea, coffee
and cookies. Please feel welcome to participate in this group when you're
available, even if you're unable to attend regularly. For more information please contact Wes Denyer who will
be facilitating this conversation each week.
