Annual Knitting Sale

The group helps to serve people in Toronto and around the world by creating knit goods in this do-it-from-home mission. We are in need of a variety of items, including hats, gloves, and scarves to assist Toronto's homeless population in keeping warm during the winter.

The Knitting Guild's Annual Sale takes place during the coffee hour. Members of the congregation take advantage of the opportunity to purchase beautifully knitted articles for themselves or for gifts. Proceeds go to the Guild for new supplies. Thousands of items have been produced by the Guild's "knit at home" volunteers. Everything remaining following the sale is distributed to various charities. Boxes have been sent to Presbyterian missions for First Nations families in the Cariboo (B.C.), Saskatoon Native Circle, and the Winnipeg Inner City Mission. Other boxes of baby items have been sent to to Jobat Hospital, India. In the city, bags of items go to Portland Place, Kennedy Residence, the St. James Town Homework Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Food Bank, the June Callwood Centre, and several other inner city charities.

High quality of the work
